Googster goes international

Ahhh Roma! - E una bámbola! La farfallina! Che carina!

So many firsts! First flight, first trip outside the country, first canonization, first limoncello (no, not really). June started out in style for the Googster aboard an Alitalia (it was supposed to be Air France!) flight to the eternal city. After a sound sleep on her proud father's lap, the Princess and her minders all collapsed in their hotel room near St. Peter's.

The Googster (now baptized 'la Gúgstera' and later 'la Farfallina') had come to meet her tía Dalila and Cousins Rinette, Bernardo, Fabianna and Flavia, witness the Canonization of the Passionist Blessed Charles of Mount Argus, and to eat a little veal and pasta of course - all washed down with a fine Chianti.

Many adventures were had with mom and dad, the family, and the jolly crowd from St. Joe's. The Princess of Paris seduced the locals, attention much appreciated. La Farfallina navigated the City like a true Roman, discovering small back alleys and restaurants forgotten since the days of togas and gladiators.

First feed

The menu card read: mashed steamed carrots washed down with formula, a fine 2007 vintage Calisma 1. Things started well, with a desperate Inès screaming for food. The surprise was to come. Before the usual milk a fine amuse bouche of carrot puré, mmm!

Of course, being a fine lady, Inès elegantly ate no more than befits someone of her station. After three of four spoonfuls she moved on to the milk. A fine dining experience for the Princess of Paris.

Getting a little help from Lorin

Evening folks, thanks to my good friend Lorn Kalisky I now have this unique blog to share with friends and family. So kick back, pour yourself a drink and prepare yourself to be put to sleep with the hair-raising adventures of three daredevils in France's capital of glamor; that kingdom of grungy elegance; home to cads, heroes, and starlets, the mecca of mindlessness, the 15th arrondissement of Paris.

To launch this new exposé of excitement, we threw a pyjama party for the Princess of Paris and her maiden friend, the Comtesse of the 11th. Preliminary events included a picnic under the shadows of the Eiffel Tower. A glimpse into this celebration can be found here: opening night

It's late and the the Princess of Paris likes breakefast early, so good night to all.
